TV Mount Replacement

The mount that was used by the builder was an off the shelf device meant for the basement of an RV, one made to push the TV out far enough in the door opening to clear the door jamb so it could be viewed from the outside patio. For whatever reason, they didn't seem to be able to find something a bit more elegant, and more importantly, compact. The unit they used pushed the TV a whole foot off the wall, which of course encroached significantly on the length of the bed.

Our replacement was a simple monitor stand. It was an extra stand that was left over from our working days, and all we had to do was make a base for it to mount to the wall. We could have bought one from the manufacturer, but it was easier and faster for us to make one. Then we just had to make a locking yoke for it to hook into when we got under way.

The new solution stowed the TV so its bottom was only a few inches from the wall. What was even better, was the mount could be moved in all three axis, so it could be positioned over the foot of the bed, in the middle, and up near the ceiling at a comfortable viewing angle.
